What the fuck is going on? A cop, in an email calls Harvard professor Henry Gates a "banana eating jungle monkey", was suspended by the police commissioner pending termination. Now he is suing him, the mayor, and the police department for “conspiring to intentionally inflict emotional distress and conspiring to intentionally interfere with the property rights, due process rights, and civil rights of the plaintiff.’’

Please. Go turn in your gun and badge, get a square badge and go be a mall cop somewhere. A police officer has to have the highest moral standards, both on and off duty. Does he really think he can ever be a police officer ever again after this? I don't care if he captured Osama Bin Laden, arrested D.B. Cooper, solved the Green River murders, whats the first thing any rookie defense attorney will do? Hold up a copy of his email in court. Way to go, Columbo. Texting teen falls down open manhole

A NYC teenager was walking along a street and fell into an open manhole. Seems the sewer department was doing some pressure washing and failed to rope off the open manhole cover.
Oh yeah, the teen was texting while walking.
She suffered some mild cuts and bruising.
Her parents say they plan to sue. Imagine that. How shocking.
Okay, the manhole should have been roped off.
But she shouldn't have been texting while walking. Is there no more personal responsibility left in the world? If that were me who fell down the sewer while texting, I wouldn't have come up until it was dark because I would have been too damned embarrassed to show my face.
If she was that damned distracted that she fell in a 3 foot wide hole, then she would also be apt to trip over a curb, too. Who would she sue then? The cell phone company?
It's disgusting how people are able to sue others because of their own stupidity.

Lets look at some similarities between The King of Pop and America's Anchorman.
While never proven yet, it has been widely reported in the media that both parties abused prescription drugs. It ends there.
Michael Jackson has admitted that there is nothing wrong with sharing your bed with children. While never convicted of any child abuse of molestation charges, he did pay out a reported twenty million dollars of "hush money".
If you have tuned into your TV for the last two weeks, the only thing that happened in the world is that Michael Jackson died. Forget about Farrah, Billy Mays, the war in Afghanistan, the troubling deficit, government health care, and any other problems that you thought existed. The media is hyping Michael Jacksons memorial and no doubt will do the same for his funeral, like JFK just got assassinated, or some world-changing event like UFO's landing on the White House lawn or a cure for cancer was just announced.
Is he really that important?
Rush Limbaugh, on the other hand, was roasted, deep fried, cut up, pureed and everything else by the media. For Michael Jackson, they all but ignore this. If I never see another MJ video again, I will be perfectly happy.

2 year old killed by "pet" python

Florida: a pet python, over 8 feet long, got out of its cage and killed a 2 year old girl. Who the fuck would keep a python as a pet when you have small kids in the house? The mothers boyfriend, thats who. Florida laws regarding reptiles says (among other things) to have a python, you have to have a license, a cage that locks, and all pythons over 2" diameter have to be microchipped. None of these three things were done by the owner.
Imagine that. Shocking.
What's wrong with people? Are you that fucking stupid? Do you not care for that little 2 year old girl more than that snake?
If there was any justice in this country, both the mother and her boyfriend would b dropped into a tank of pythons at the local zoo. And then the cage would be locked.

A recent study showed that female cheerleading is the most dangerous female sport. Really? Do they pull a hamstring from kicking so high? Are those heavy pom-poms pulling shoulders out of their sockets? Or throwing out their backs from the backseat gymnastics after the big game?

Scientists can see a memory being made?

Scientists have announced that they can see when a long term memory is
made. Apparently, protiens are created during this process.
There are some interesting aspects to this discovery. Alzheimers
research, prevention and possibly reversal. What a wonderful
breakthrough that would be.
Another more sinister application for this research is mind reading.
Seriously, if we understand how a memory is made, isn't it feasable to
think we may be able to read those memories with outside the brain
apparatus? Think of some poor schmuck, kidnapped by some nefarious
intelligence agency, strapped to a table, head wired up, and the
shadowy agents actually being able to tap into his memories? Would any
state secrets be safe ever again?

I am. I am of Hungarian and Polish descent. I am an American. No, not a Hungarian-American, or a Polish-American, but an American. I chose the name of Atilla Kowalski to honor both sides of my heritage. I don't believe in hyphenated Americans.
I am a politically conservative (on most issues), socially middle of the road (on most issues), and financially hard right. The government needs to stop spending OUR money.
I like to think I am quite sane, but at the same time cynical about a lot of issues and people. I guess that comes from experience. I will talk about a wide variety of issues along the way, and hope you enjoy the journey with me. I try to write with a humorous edge, sarcastic at times; but always speak the truth and try to make us both laugh.

I was saddened today to hear the Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer. She was a true American beauty. What red-blooded boy around 14 years old didn't fall in love with her? I was also shocked to see the media going crazy over the death of Michael Jackson, and Farrah was just about ignored. Sad, but the freaks get the media coverage.
